5 Ways To Exponentially Increase Brand Awareness
If you want to stand out in your respective industries…if you want to gain maximum exposure…if you want to grow exponentially, then don’t get caught up in the ‘black hole’ of social media marketing just because it’s free or inexpensive. This will cause you to spend hours & hours searching for the people who will value & can afford your products/services, only to generate minimal income or none at all. Your time should be much more valuable than that. You want to produce better results, with less effort. Work smarter, not harder. You may have to shop less, eat less, or live less comfortably, but if you want to see substantial results in your marketing efforts, you will need to do these four things:
1. Write or hire someone to write a short & long version of your biography
You will find that you will need a bio for different reasons; whether you are being scheduled for an interview, a performance or speaking engagement, or preparing a press release for a magazine, website, or blog. Having your bio/story featured on other websites, not only increases your “exposure potential” based on that website’s visitor frequency, but it also increases the SEO potential of your own website.
2. Find website solutions (domain registration, website hosting, website management)
Not having a central location to refer people, outside of your social media pages, will not only make you seem less professional or established, but it will also dilute your ability to track the results of your marketing efforts. You will have to view statistics for each individual site (which you should do anyway), opposed to seeing all of your stats in one place. If you do not have a website, when it comes to producing things like business cards & flyers, your marketing materials will have to be more wordy, especially if you have multiple usernames across social media sites. It is best to direct people to your website, which should include all of your social media and contact links/info. Above all, having a website increases your “exposure potential” based on SEO alone, just as having social media accounts for your business does. But, only having social media sites and no website for your brand, will make you a “Prisoner of Posting”, because your content is constantly being pushed to the bottom of people’s timeline.
3. Invest in graphic design services
Having professional images to use for marketing will increase the perceived value of your brand, product, and/or services. If you are not experienced with graphic design, the “Do-It-Yourself” approach will make your brand, product, and/or services look cheap and mediocre, making it hard for you to charge your full value. Professional, high-quality images will also increase the appeal of your website.
4. Invest in professional photography services
As I said in the last paragraph…and I cannot stress this enough…having professional images to use for marketing will increase the perceived value of your brand, product, and/or services. Not only that, you will need professional photos to be featured in magazines, they will be requested when discussing a potential performance or speaking engagement, and they will enhance your graphic design images.
5. Utilize Email Marketing
Email marketing is a great way to pick up the traction behind your marketing efforts. If you host events, then you should definitely be building an email list. People are more willing to join your email list, because it doesn't cost them anything. Some services are free and some are paid. Each email marketing service out there has its pros and cons. Some services are specially designed for businesses and organizations with paid memberships. You will have to do the extensive research to find out what works best for you.
Not doing these things, will cause your competition to outshine you & leave you & your brand unsung. If you are not willing to do these things, then entrepreneurship is NOT for you.
